Colorado Candidate Links Israel Actions to Attacks on Jewish People

A Democratic candidate for Congress in Colorado stated that Israel's actions in the Middle East are placing Jewish people in greater danger during a Wednesday interview. The candidate said the June 1, 2025, firebombing of a pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder was a horrific attack on people peacefully protesting.

Background on the Boulder Attack The attack occurred June 1, 2025, when a man disguised as a gardener threw two flaming projectiles at demonstrators. An 82-year-old woman was killed and about a dozen others were injured. The suspect later expressed regret and said he deserved the death penalty, while denying hatred of Jews but criticizing Zionism, according to court records cited in reporting.

The candidate made opposition to Israel a central part of her primary campaign and said one goal was to end what she described as genocide in Palestine after winning the nomination.
