Peters was convicted of conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, official misconduct, violation of duty, and failure to comply with the Secretary of State requirements. Her original mandatory release date would have been 2033, and she had been eligible for parole in 2028 prior to the commutation. She is now set to be released on parole on June 1, 2026.

Lauren Boebert. The commutation ends what Boebert described as relentless pressure applied by her office working hand-in-hand with President Donald Trump to highlight the case. Polis insisted the decision was not intended to appease the president.
