Colorado Rockies All-Star scratched from lineup before Dodgers game

Colorado Rockies All-Star Hunter Goodman was scratched from the lineup before Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Goodman had been scheduled to serve as the designated hitter but was removed after suffering a left hand contusion during Monday's 8-7, 11-inning loss. X-rays on the injury were negative.

Injury details The contusion occurred when Goodman slid into home plate with what would have been the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning. The safe call was overturned on replay, and Goodman said he jammed his wrist on the play.

Lineup adjustments Mickey Moniak replaced Goodman as designated hitter and went 2-for-4. Braxton Fulford started at catcher and finished 1-for-4 in the 4-3 win. Goodman has earned his second straight All-Star selection and has hit 27 home runs this season.
