Companies Linked to Romualdez Associates Buy Properties in US, Philippines and Spain
Rappler reported on multiple real estate acquisitions by companies tied to Martin Romualdez's business associates and fraternity brothers. The transactions include estates in Connecticut, Makati, and Spain totaling hundreds of millions of pesos.

Rappler reported that companies connected to associates of Leyte Representative and former House speaker Martin Romualdez have acquired multiple high-value properties across three countries. A firm linked to Andrew Casiño, described as a close business associate and fraternity brother of Romualdez, bought an estate in Greenwich, Connecticut, for $6.9 million in September 2022.
Golden Pheasant Holdings Corporation purchased a mansion in South Forbes Park, Makati City, for P1.665 billion.
The company's president, Jose Raulito Paras, has served on the boards of Romualdez-owned businesses and is an Upsilon fraternity brother. In January 2024, CECIL PROPERTY PTE LTD, a Singapore-registered firm, acquired a mansion in the Sotogrande community in Spain for at least 6.5 million euros. A firm attached to CECIL PROPERTY PTE LTD traces back to Paras.
The Connecticut property and another estate in Massachusetts were transferred via quitclaim deeds to companies registered in Delaware in July 2025. Rappler noted that Delaware registration can limit public disclosure of ultimate ownership. Rappler stated that the transactions follow a recurring pattern involving the same network of individuals and entities connected to Romualdez.
