Restoration of America proposed a 12-page plan to reshape U.S. service academies around warfighting priorities. The document urges Congress to enact the changes into law.
Fox NewsRestoration of America released a 12-page blueprint that calls for permanent changes to admissions, curriculum, faculty and governance at U.S. military service academies and war colleges. Fox News reported that the document was obtained by Fox News Digital and distributed to lawmakers and administration officials.
The blueprint requires at least 75 percent of coursework to focus on military competencies and warfighting. It also calls for a permanent ban on considering race, ethnicity or sex in admissions decisions, replacement of most civilian professors with active-duty or retired military officers, abolition of tenure, an end to participation in the Rhodes Scholarship program, elimination of diversity offices and restructuring of oversight boards.
Founder Doug Truax, a West Point graduate, said the academies should produce warfighters rather than philosophers and bureaucrats.
"We pay a lot for these academies... and the expectation is that they're generating warfighters," Truax stated. West Point has already disbanded a dozen cadet clubs focused on race, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.
The Naval Academy canceled "Gender Matters" and "Gender Sexuality Studies" and modified 18 other courses during a Pentagon-directed review of diversity-related curriculum. Truax said recent steps have moved in the right direction but warned that executive orders alone are insufficient. "We have to take our opportunity when we have power to put this into law," he stated.
"Woke did not go anywhere," Truax added. " The organization is sharing the blueprint with lawmakers and officials to seek statutory codification of the recommendations.
