Control Resonant Launches September 24 on PS5, Xbox, and PC

Control Resonant will be released on September 24 for the PS5, Xbox, and PC. The game is set after the events of the earlier title but is not a direct continuation of its story.

Entertainment has described the two games as separate entry points into the same universe. Creative director Mikael Kasurinen said players can start with either title. The new game shifts focus to a character who has lived inside the Oldest House and is now entering the outside world.

A two-plus-hour preview included the opening section, a later mission, and an open combat area. Combat requires constant movement and ability use, with weaker enemies used to restore resources. The preview also featured multiple skill trees and weapon styles.

Kasurinen said each game offers a different view of the paranatural world. The earlier title follows a character entering that world; the new game follows one leaving it. The developer said this structure allows new players to begin without prior knowledge of the previous story.
