Crypto firms are reviewing their involvement with an after-party held at E11EVEN nightclub in Miami on May 6. The event took place at the end of the Consensus conference and included female dancers performing pole routines and lap dances. OKX told the Financial Times it would reconsider its sponsorship of the conference.

Elliott Suthers, OKX’s global head of corporate affairs, said the events risk alienating communities the industry needs for growth.

Consensys stated it had no role in the event and is reviewing its partner selection and brand usage processes after its logo appeared at the party. The company is an infrastructure firm founded by Joseph Lubin, a co-founder of Ethereum, and created the MetaMask wallet.

Brent Fulfer, co-founder of the crypto event firm that hosted the party, said E11EVEN is a legal and licensed entertainment venue. He noted the event drew 7,000 sign-ups and that top executives from major companies attended.

E11EVEN has hosted crypto events before.

In 2018, Bitcoin conference organizers held a networking party there that they later called a misstep. The venue launched an NFT-based private membership club in 2022. , recently cleared a committee markup and is headed to the Senate floor. Technology firms including Stripe and Meta are integrating stablecoins into their services.
