The Chicago Cubs defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 on May 30 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri. Alec Burleson gave the Cardinals a lead with a run in the fourth inning. Ben Brown allowed only that one run over seven innings for the Cubs.

JJ Wetherholt recorded three of the Cardinals’ five hits. Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to extend the Cubs’ lead. The Cubs outscored the Cardinals 11-6 across the first two games of the series.
