The series consists of 12 episodes, each 30 minutes long, filmed in towns across the UK, including six in Wales. Contestants in the show visit charity shops to buy items.
In each episode, two contestants have one hour to select up to 10 second-hand items from charity shops, with a budget of £100. One item must be upcycled before auction. The items are then sold in live-streamed auctions, and the contestant who raises the most money directs the proceeds to a charity of their choice.
Page, aged 49 and from Swansea, participated in thrifting activities during the filming. She purchased a vase for about £2 and upcycled it by drawing on it during a live auction. The vase sold for more than £100, with the funds going to charity.
Page described her experience with the auctions. She stated that she had not conducted a live auction before the show but adapted quickly. The series highlights upcycling, such as transforming a blue and yellow sleeping bag into a puffer jacket using original zips.
Page's Background and Interest Page has customized and upcycled clothes for years.
She said the show's format aligned with her interests as an avid thrifter. During filming, she noted bonding with the online auction community. The actress appeared on The One Show with Martin Freeman, who co-starred with her in The Hobbit.
Freeman commented on her talking during the auctions, to which Page responded affirmatively. Page's other BBC projects include Joanna Page's Wild Life on BBC Two and Wynne & Joanna: All At Sea on BBC One. The series aims to promote thrifting and charity fundraising through competitive challenges.
Filming occurred in various UK locations, emphasizing local charity shops. No specific air date for the episodes has been announced.
