forbes.comDaisy Sound revealed the Daisy One headphones on Tuesday as its first product. The over-ear model retails for $399, undercutting Apple’s AirPods Max and Sony’s WH-1000XM6, which sell for $450 to $550. The headphones feature aluminum ear cups and composite TR90 headstraps.
They weigh 318 grams and include magnetically attached ear pads. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, USB-C, and a 3.5-mm auxiliary jack. Available colors are silver, Pacific blue, and Kelp greenish-brown.
Some designers previously worked at Harman Professional Solutions. The audio system was developed by Utah-based ((nxc)) systems. The device stores California-recorded ambient soundscapes such as ocean waves and Big Sur forest sounds, plus a guided breathwork exercise.
Battery life reaches approximately 35 hours with noise cancelling active and 45 hours when disabled. The battery cannot be replaced. Wired reported that founder and CEO Mulroe said the company is addressing replaceability in future models.
Early tester feedback on TikTok criticized the transparency mode. Mulroe acknowledged the issue and stated it can be addressed through a future software update. He added that the team spent months refining transparency features against established competitors.
Mulroe said the company aims to compete directly with Sony, Bose, Beats, and Apple. He expressed confidence in build quality and long-term presence in the market despite memory shortages affecting electronics production.
