Danny McBride's debut novel reached number 14 on the New York Times Best-Seller list in its first week after going on sale June 23. Random House acquired North American publishing rights to Thrilling Tales Of Modern Men in 2023. Ben Greenberg handled the deal at Random House, while Anthony Mattero and Mollie Glick represented the author at CAA.
An audiobook edition released at the same time through Penguin Random House Audio and is narrated by McBride. Deadline reported that the short-story collection examines fragile masculinity in modern American culture through McBride's characteristic humor. McBride previously wrote and starred in the films Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder and the series Vice Principals and Eastbound and Down.
