thesouthafrican.comDavid Beckham will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday in the Sports Entertainment category. The former England soccer captain, 51, will be in the United States for the duration of the World Cup. Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said the timing is fitting because the United States hosts the FIFA World Cup and because Beckham elevated soccer’s profile in America.
Tom Cruise will attend the ceremony and give a speech. Victoria Beckham, 52, will also be present. Cruise and his then-wife Katie Holmes hosted a welcome-to-Los-Angeles party for the Beckhams in July 2007 with Jada and Will Smith.
Brooklyn Beckham, 27, will not attend even though he lives four miles from the ceremony site. He and his wife Nicola Peltz, 31, bought a 7,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, six-bathroom villa in Trousdale Estates above Beverly Hills for more than $16 million.
The home includes a wet bar, fitness center, home theater, infinity pool, outdoor kitchen, and rooftop lounge, plus more than $100,000 in furniture and art.
The purchase was made through an LLC linked to the Peltz family and secured with a mortgage of close to $13 million. Brooklyn Beckham posted a six-page Instagram message in January accusing his parents of using him to make money for “Brand Beckham” and trying to “ruin” his marriage. He instructed his parents to contact him only through his lawyer.
He has not seen his parents and three siblings in well over a year. Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz last spent time with the Beckham family over Christmas 2024. The couple flew to London ahead of David Beckham’s 50th birthday in May 2025 but did not join any celebrations.
Victoria Beckham addressed the family situation in an April interview with the Wall Street Journal. She said, “We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. ” On the “Today” show she described the past year as challenging and said the family always puts its children first.
