Fortune reported that the Founders host, who turned down acquisition offers above $50 million, is starting a long-form interview show with Scicomm Media. The move follows the April 2026 sale of a podcast he advised for hundreds of millions of dollars.
FortuneDavid Senra is launching a second long-form interview show in partnership with Scicomm Media, the producer of the Huberman Lab podcast that generated 400 million downloads in the previous year. The new program will feature conversations with figures such as Daniel Ek, Jimmy Iovine, Michael Ovitz, and Michael Dell, using a five-camera setup, twelve cases of equipment weighing roughly 1,000 pounds, and a team of about five people.
Senra began Founders in 2016 from his Miami kitchen with a $100 microphone.
For the first five and a half years the show had almost no listeners, during which time Senra paid its costs out of pocket while reading one business biography per week in hard copy. He attended the University of Central Florida at night while working full time and was the first in his family to graduate college.
Fortune reported that Founders now generates millions of dollars a year in profit with Senra as its sole employee.
Listeners include Jeff Bezos, Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Michael Dell, and Spotify CEO Daniel Ek. Brad Jacobs wrote in his book that one episode directly produced $750 million in investments from listeners. Senra has rejected acquisition offers valued at more than $50 million.
Ramp, the corporate card company valued at $44 billion and backed by Iconiq, is the show's largest advertiser under a flat partnership rate with a minimum one-year commitment and usually one sponsor per episode. Ramp CEO Eric Glyman said Michael Dell personally mentioned listening to Founders and knowing 10 to 15 billionaires who also listen.
Senra advised Ramp to end 32 of its 35 existing podcast sponsorships and focus on three.
Senra had worked with John Coogan for years before Coogan's podcast TPBN existed. When TPBN had fewer than 1,000 listeners, Senra secured its first Ramp sponsorship. In early April 2026 OpenAI acquired TPBN for hundreds of millions of dollars.
Senra received 50 texts that day and took no equity or financial cut from the transaction. Senra has read 415 biographies of successful operators. He said one pattern among them is an obsession with maintaining control over product quality.
The new show will operate separately from Founders, which Senra described as part of his soul and unsuitable for outside investors.
