De Minaur reaches career-high world number five ranking
Alex de Minaur climbed to fifth in the ATP rankings after Wimbledon. He is the first Australian man inside the top five since 2009.

Alex de Minaur reached a career-high ranking of number five in the ATP men's singles standings on Monday. Confirmation came with the release of the ATP ranking list. Jannik Sinner stayed first after winning Wimbledon, Alexander Zverev moved to second, and Felix Auger-Aliassime remained fourth.
De Minaur passed Ben Shelton to take fifth place. He is the first Australian man to reach the top five since Lleyton Hewitt in 2009.
Background on the ranking move De Minaur lost in the fourth round at Wimbledon to Flavio Cobolli. Shelton's first-round exit reduced the points Shelton defended, opening the path for de Minaur's gain. De Minaur earned the same number of points he defended from last year's Wimbledon performance. Novak Djokovic stayed seventh after a semifinal loss.

Katie Boulter, ranked 67th, married de Minaur near the English midlands village where she grew up.
