Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé recorded 41 touches and 10 lost possessions during France's 3-1 win over Senegal on June 16. He started on the right or in the center behind captain Kylian Mbappé but faded after the first half and was replaced by Bradley Barcola, who scored two minutes after entering.
Dembélé, 29, won the 2025 Ballon d'Or and told RMC radio on May 21 he wanted a strong World Cup performance with the French national team. His limited role in the Senegal match followed earlier struggles to establish himself as a regular starter for France.
Dembélé is expected to play against Iraq on Monday as France continues its group-stage schedule.
