Democratic candidate leads Republican incumbent by three points in Michigan House race

A Democratic state senator leads the Republican incumbent by three points in a Michigan congressional race, according to a poll conducted by a Democratic firm and shared with Semafor. The survey was the first to show the challenger ahead in the contest. It also found that nearly six in 10 respondents disapprove of the president's job performance.

Fundraising and campaign statements The Democratic candidate raised nearly $400,000 more than the incumbent during the first quarter of 2026, bringing the challenger's total to more than $1 million. The incumbent won the seat by nearly 12 points in 2024.

The challenger's campaign manager said the candidate would maintain an aggressive pace through November. The incumbent's campaign spokesperson stated that internal polls would not change the outcome in November.
