Democratic senator hospitalized with minor injuries after Delaware multi-vehicle crash

The senator, 62, was transported to Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware, where treatment was provided for minor injuries. The senator said the driver who collided with several cars was having a medical issue that caused loss of consciousness.

The senator added that they were feeling relieved no one was seriously injured. The senator expressed gratitude to the Lewes Police Department, Lewes and Rehoboth Fire Departments, Sussex County Emergency Medical Services, and the doctors and nurses at Beebe Hospital.

Authorities have not released further details on the number of vehicles involved or the senator's specific injuries.
