Democratic Socialists of America Release Platform Calling for Parliamentary System and Abolishing the Senate
The Democratic Socialists of America issued a revised platform proposing changes to U.S. government structures and immigration policy. Several House Democrats responded by stating they had not reviewed the document or were not members of the group.

The Democratic Socialists of America released a revised platform titled 'Workers Deserve More' that calls for abolishing the U.S. Senate, replacing the president with an executive branch elected by and subordinate to Congress, and replacing the Supreme Court with a judiciary elected by and subordinate to Congress.
The platform also calls for a unicameral proportional legislature and a parliamentary system.
Fox News reported that the platform further calls for the complete abolishment of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, pardoning all immigrants including those who have committed crimes, and defunding the Department of War. The group has advocated publicly for abolishing ICE since 2018.
Rep. Ro Khanna stated he does not support the platform and has not read the proposal. Rep. Ilhan Omar said she is not a member of the DSA and cannot comment on its documents. Rep. Pete Aguilar said he was not at all worried about far-left candidates and looks forward to working with all colleagues who run as Democrats.
In a statement published Friday in its magazine Democratic Left, the DSA outlined formal requirements for socialist candidates to receive endorsement, stating that candidates will be expected to accept and promote the program and align their campaign platforms with its contents.
