The Detroit Lions released cornerback Terrion Arnold on June 29, 2026, hours after a Hillsborough County judge set his bond at $1 million in a Florida case. Arnold, 23, was arrested last week on eight felony counts of kidnapping and armed robbery stemming from an alleged incident on February 4.
The court denied prosecutors' request to hold him without bond and declined to require an ankle monitor.
Judge Christopher Sabella ordered Arnold to surrender his passport within 48 hours and restricted him to his Tallahassee residence except for NFL business, legal matters, or court appearances. He is also barred from contacting witnesses or the six co-defendants. Defense attorneys argued against a GPS tracking device, stating it would prevent Arnold from playing in the NFL.
Prosecutors had requested the monitor. A pre-trial motion filed by Largo police seeks to keep Arnold in custody until trial. The Lions announced the release the same day the bond was set. Veterans are scheduled to report for training camp on July 28.
Arnold, the team's 2024 first-round draft pick, could face life in prison if convicted.
