Discord Rolls Out End-to-End Encryption for All Voice and Video Calls

Discord first introduced the encryption option in 2024.
On Monday the company extended the feature to all users with no opt-in required. “End-to-end Encryption is now standard for every voice and video call on Discord, outside of stage channels. No opt-in required,” said Mark Smith, Discord’s vice president of core technologies, in a blog post.
The update follows earlier decisions by other platforms regarding encryption standards. Meta discontinued end-to-end encryption for Instagram messaging earlier this year. U.S. company.
