Disney+ Series 'A Shop for Killers' Season Two Premieres Wednesday with New Cast Members

Lee Dong-wook told reporters at a Monday press conference in Seoul that he felt pressure to improve on the first season of the Disney+ series "A Shop for Killers" and gave the project his full effort, as Yonhap reported, since there would otherwise have been no point in producing it.

The eight-episode follow-up premieres Wednesday and follows Ji-an after she assumes leadership of Murthehelp, the covert weapons supplier run by her uncle Jin-man in the first season, while exploring unresolved mysteries from the 2024 run.

Returning cast members include Lee Dong-wook, Kim Hye-jun, Jo Han-sun, Geum Hae-na and Kim Min. Newcomers Jung Yun-ha, Hyunri and Masaki Okada join as members of the East Asian unit of the mercenary group Babylon.

Director Lee Kwon said the central theme is counterattack. He described the story as focused on the choices Ji-an makes while growing from child to adult through survival and response to threats. Lee Dong-wook noted that each character has a distinct personality reflected in their action style and that the series unfolds inside a carefully built fictional universe.

The first season was adapted from the novel "The Murderer's Shopping Mall," while the second moves beyond that source material.
