DJI launches Osmo Pocket 4P stabilized camera in China
DJI released full specifications for its dual-camera Osmo Pocket 4P today after a brief debut at the Cannes film festival last month. The device features a new 1-inch 4K sensor and 240fps slow-motion recording.
The VergeDJI announced full details of its Osmo Pocket 4P stabilized camera today as part of its initial launch in China. The device pairs a 1-inch 4K sensor with a 20mm-equivalent f/2.0 lens offering 17 stops of dynamic range. A secondary 1/1.28-inch sensor with a 60mm-equivalent f/1.8 telephoto lens provides 3X optical zoom.
Camera specifications The Pocket 4P records 4K video at up to 240 frames per second using its primary camera. It can capture still images at up to 37 megapixels and includes 103GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD. The camera weighs 230 grams and supports advanced tracking with ActiveTrack/Smart Follow 8.0 technology.
An optional FrameTap viewfinder remote adds wireless preview and control functions.
Comparison to competing model The Insta360 Luna Ultra uses an 8K 1-inch sensor and records 8K video at 30fps or 4K at up to 120fps. Its secondary telephoto camera uses a slightly smaller 1/1.3-inch sensor. The Pocket 4P is priced at ¥3799, or about $562, in China. A higher-priced Vlog Kit bundle includes the FrameTap remote.
