DNC Report on 2024 Election Loss Omits Gaza and Israel
A 192-page analysis commissioned by the Democratic National Committee examines factors in Kamala Harris's 2024 presidential loss but does not address the party's stance on the Gaza conflict. The report was first published by CNN and later reviewed by The Intercept.
dnaindia.comA 192-page report commissioned by the Democratic National Committee reviews reasons for the party's 2024 presidential election loss but makes no reference to the Gaza conflict or Israel. The document was prepared by Democratic strategist Paul Rivera and first published by CNN on Thursday. It examines several elements that affected Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign against Donald Trump.
Chair Ken Martin stated in a Substack post that the report did not meet his standards. Martin wrote that he does not endorse the document's contents or omissions. A DNC spokesperson declined to comment on the absence of Gaza-related analysis and referred questions to Martin's post. The report includes a disclaimer on every page stating that it reflects the author's views and not those of the DNC.
Sarsour, an organizer from Brooklyn, said the omission was unsurprising. She had previously worked on efforts to press Harris to adopt a different position on the war. Georgia state representative Ruwa Romman, who is running for state Senate, expressed disappointment over the lack of mention.
Romman noted that while the economy ranked as the top issue for most voters, the Gaza question served as a test of whether politicians would prioritize voters over special interests. The Democratic Party released an annotated version of the report that highlights missing data and unsubstantiated claims.
