Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani had fluid drained from his left knee after Sunday's game. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that the procedure addressed irritation and that Ohtani did not receive an injection. Ohtani is taking a few days of vacation before the second half.
He will be in the lineup as a designated hitter at minimum for the three-game series against the New York Yankees that opens Friday at Yankee Stadium. Roberts said it has not been decided whether Ohtani will pitch in the series. The four-time MVP was already ruled out for Tuesday's All-Star Game.
