Driver To Attempt Indianapolis 500 And Coca-Cola 600 On Same Day

A driver will attempt one of motorsports' most demanding challenges on May 24 by competing in the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway before traveling to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600 the same evening. The 1,100-mile doubleheader requires racing the full distance of both events, one of the longest single-day tests in American motorsports.

The Indianapolis 500 is known for its mental demands while the Coca-Cola 600 is NASCAR's longest race and often runs late into the night.

Five drivers have attempted the feat before. Only one completed all 1,100 miles, requiring two tries to do so. This attempt will be the first by a woman and the first by a foreign-born driver. The driver has made five starts in the Indianapolis 500, including the upcoming race in the No.
