Drone Attack Hits Industrial Site in Russia's Perm Region, Causing Fire and Reported Black Rain

A Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle struck an industrial facility in Russia's Perm region on April 29, 2026, causing a fire at the site. The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out the drone attack, targeting the region roughly 2,000 kilometers from the border. The smoke was visible across multiple districts of the city of Perm. Residents reported a 'black rain' after the fire in Perm. Eyewitnesses described dark spots appearing on clothing, skin, and vehicles due to the black rain in Perm.

Authorities imposed temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures at Perm's Bolshoye Savino Airport, according to Rosaviatsiya. Similar temporary restrictions were imposed at Koltsovo Airport in Yekaterinburg and at the airport in Orsk. The restrictions took effect at 6:26 Moscow time in Orsk and at 6:30 Moscow time in Perm and Yekaterinburg.

Rosaviatsiya stated that the restrictions were necessary to ensure flight safety. Perm is the administrative centre of Perm Krai in the European part of Russia. The city sits on the banks of the Kama River near the Ural Mountains.
