Duchess of Edinburgh Opens Agriculture Festival in New Bob Haircut

The Duchess of Edinburgh arrived at the Groundswell Regenerative Agriculture Festival in Hitchin on Wednesday with a new shoulder-length bob haircut. GB News reported this as the first occasion she has been photographed with short hair. Sophie, 61, wore a denim midi skirt paired with a blue blouse by designer Penelope Chilvers, along with tan boots, gold jewellery and reading glasses resting atop her hair.

She attended the two-day event at Lannock Farm in Weston in her capacity as Honorary President of Linking Environment And Farming. Britain is bracing for its third heatwave of the summer this Friday, with forecasters expecting temperatures to climb above 30C after the hottest May and June on record, GB News reported.

The duchess had been spotted earlier at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials on the King's Norfolk estate this weekend.

There she wore a beige blazer with a matching hat and presented prizes to competition winners. That appearance marked Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's first public outing since being exiled to Marsh Farm. The duchess's schedule also included a two-day trip to Jersey last week, during which she became the first member of the Royal Family to travel to Les Écréhous.

During the Jersey visit Sophie went to Eyecan, the island's sole sight impairment charity, where she tested glasses simulating cataracts and tried AI-powered Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. GB News reported her commitment to sight loss campaigning stems from her daughter Lady Louise Windsor's early vision difficulties after a premature birth in 2003.
