Ducks Trade McTavish to Blues for Picks 15 and 29
The Anaheim Ducks traded center Mason McTavish to the St. Louis Blues for the 15th and 29th selections in the NHL draft. The team used the 15th pick on Saginaw Spirit winger Nikita Klepov and later acquired the 28th pick from the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Anaheim Ducks traded center Mason McTavish to the St. Louis Blues for the 15th and 29th selections in Friday's NHL draft. The Ducks used the 15th pick to select Saginaw Spirit winger Nikita Klepov. They sent the 29th pick along with the 117th selection to the Vegas Golden Knights for the 28th pick, which they used to select left wing Marcus Nordmark.
Performance McTavish, 23, had his role reduced during the Ducks' second-round playoff loss to Vegas. He recorded six points in 10 playoff games while averaging 12:25 of ice time. In the 2024-25 season, McTavish posted 20 goals and 52 points in 76 games. The prior season he finished with 17 goals and 41 points in 75 games.
PuckPedia projects the Ducks now have $44.623 million in salary cap space. The team can use the space to re-sign restricted free agents Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier and Pavel Mintyukov. The Blues receive a player who can fill a top-six role at center or on the wing. McTavish's addition comes as the Blues consider further roster changes this offseason.
