Dutch Plant Begins Assembly of Combat Robots for Ukraine
Estonia's Milrem Robotics opened an assembly line in the Netherlands to produce THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles. The first unit has been completed for the Dutch government as part of a pledge to supply more than 100 robots to Ukraine.
Defense NewsEstonia's Milrem Robotics has opened an assembly line in the Netherlands for its THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles. The facility in Born operates with local partner VDL Defentec, which handles armored vehicle assembly and electric propulsion systems. The plant produced its first THeMIS vehicle for the Dutch government.
That unit is part of a commitment by the Netherlands to deliver more than 100 of the robots to Ukrainian forces, the company stated. The THeMIS is a multifunction unmanned ground vehicle designed for logistics and other support tasks in combat zones. The new line adds production capacity outside Estonia for these systems.
