Dyson Releases Air Purifier with On-Device AI Camera That Tracks Human Presence

The new bladeless purifier uses an on-device AI camera to track people in a room and direct airflow toward them. Available starting May 14, 2026, the device is priced at $894.99 and captures 99.97 percent of ultrafine particles as small as 0.3 microns. Images are processed locally and deleted after analysis, with the AI used only for presence detection.

Dyson announced a new air purifying bladeless fan called the Find+Follow Purifier Cool on Thursday, its first air purifier to incorporate an AI-powered camera. The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool uses on-device AI to track the location of people in a room. It directs fresh air towards people and turns off automatically when a room is empty.

99. 3 microns. It can trap particles causing unpleasant odors, allergens, and viruses.

The purifier connects to Wi-Fi and can be remotely adjusted from Dyson’s mobile app. Images captured by the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool's camera are processed locally by its on-device AI vision system. The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool's camera does not recognize individual persons.

The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool's AI is used only to detect presence, and images from the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool's camera are deleted after being analyzed in real time. The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool automatically adjusts its oscillation to direct airflow to multiple people in the same room.

It tracks the movements of people and oscillates to direct airflow toward them as they move.

The device adjusts the intensity of its airflow when more pollutants are detected. It can be integrated into smart home setups including Apple Home and Google Home.

Dyson already uses a mix of cameras and AI in its robovacs, but the stationary Find+Follow Purifier Cool applies the technology differently to direct fresh air and conserve power. The periscope-like camera feeds the AI vision system, which The Verge reported focuses solely on presence rather than identification to address privacy considerations.
