Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts Says Relationship With Receiver A.J. Brown Remains Strong

J. Brown remains "really good" despite ongoing trade speculation surrounding the receiver. Hurts addressed the topic during media availability on May 27. He noted that both players are focused on learning the offense and that past shared accomplishments cannot be replaced.

Brown has not attended the team's organized team activities, including a session open to reporters on May 26. Reports indicate Brown expressed frustration with the passing offense in prior seasons, and some of that frustration was directed at Hurts over perceived reluctance to attempt tight-window throws.

The teams involved are believed to be waiting until after June 1, when Philadelphia's 2026 salary-cap obligation for Brown becomes more manageable. The New England Patriots are viewed as the most likely destination. The Eagles have already added depth at the position.

They drafted Makai Lemon, acquired Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers, and signed Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore to one-year contracts. Hurts and Brown have known each other since Brown visited Alabama during recruiting. Hurts is the godfather to Brown's daughter.

Brown was married recently; Hurts said he viewed the wedding photos and offered congratulations, confirming he was not present at the ceremony.
