J. Brown to the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2028 first-round draft pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. ESPN reported the deal followed weeks of discussion.

Brown, 28, spent four seasons in Philadelphia and averaged 1,258 receiving yards per season. In the 2025 season Brown recorded 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. He also played in Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LIX, catching 43 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles' victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

Brown said he has been a Patriots fan since childhood. He posted childhood photos of himself wearing a Tom Brady Patriots jersey after the trade was announced. Brown told the "7PM In Brooklyn" podcast that he kept a sizable Patriots rug in his home throughout his time with the Eagles.

"It came from Amazon," he said. " "You know, some things just never change," Brown added. "This is my team since I was a kid.
