France 24More than 130 people have died and over 500 cases have been recorded in the current Ebola outbreak in DR Congo. A vaccination and epidemic response adviser preparing to travel to the country said the outbreak shows signs of becoming a serious one.
Johnson, vaccination and epidemic response advisor at MSF, explained that tests had been carried out for a more common strain of Ebola, so they were coming back negative. He is due to fly to DR Congo on Thursday to assist with the response.
"This could be a very bad outbreak," the MSF health worker said. Officials are working to contain the spread as additional cases continue to be detected.
