A 24-year-old defender from the northern Ecuadorian town of Quininde joined PSG in 2024 after playing in rough neighborhoods there. The player is expected to start when PSG meets Arsenal on Saturday in a match that could allow the French club to become only the second team to retain the Champions League trophy.
Arsenal last appeared in the competition final 20 years ago and would need a victory to keep its title hopes alive.
The defender arrived at the club with little prior recognition outside Ecuador.
