Egyptian Teen Amina Orfi Wins PSA World Squash Title
Amina Orfi defeated Nour El-Sherbini in a five-game final to win the 2026 PSA World Championships in Giza. At 18 years and 10 months, Orfi became the youngest women's champion and the first player to hold both junior and senior titles simultaneously.

Orfi, 18, defeated compatriot Nour El-Sherbini 6-11, 11-6, 11-9, 7-11, 14-12. The match lasted into repeated tie-breaks and became the second-longest women's final in the tournament's history.
Orfi took the second and third games after dropping the opener.
El-Sherbini won the fourth game before Orfi sealed the fifth with a backhand winner. Orfi said she had faced pressure knowing both opponents held top rankings. She added that she felt she carried the least pressure and played accordingly.
Asal retained the men's title, defeating Youssef Ibrahim 11-4, 11-1, 12-10 in 57 minutes. Asal said winning at home in front of family and friends felt amazing and credited Ibrahim for competing despite an injury. Orfi had earlier beaten world number one Hania El-Hammamy in the semifinals 10-12, 11-7, 11-8, 11-9.
