Eight spectators were injured when a motorcycle rider crashed into crowd barriers during practice for the Isle of Man TT races on the Isle of Man. The incident took place at the exit of Ramsey's Parliament Square. A crashed bike entered a spectator area and pushed barriers into the crowd.

All eight injured spectators were reported conscious and taken to Nobles Hospital for assessment and treatment. The rider, who has not been identified, suffered leg injuries and remained conscious while receiving treatment. Opening practice sessions for the Supersport, Supertwin, and Sidecar classes earlier in the day passed without incident.

A red flag was raised during the Superbike and Superstock sessions around 1pm local time, halting activity. Organizers cited the activation of serious incident protocols as the reason for suspending the remainder of the day's timed qualifying sessions.

"To ensure the incident was managed as effectively as possible, the decision was made to suspend any further racing activity for the remainder of the day," organizers stated. "In accordance with the event's standard operating procedures, an investigative process is now underway involving race, medical and safety personnel," the statement continued.

7-mile Mountain Course and is scheduled to conclude on June 6.
