Einride and EASE Logistics announced the deployment of two SAE Level 4 autonomous electric trucks for proof-of-concept service between EASE warehouses in Marysville, Ohio. The trucks will operate on EASE property and local public roads starting this summer. They will transport goods between warehouses and generate data on warehousing, distribution, and transportation operations.

The deployment extends the Ohio Department of Transportation and DriveOhio's Truck Automation Corridor Project. The Indiana Department of Transportation is also a partner in the effort. The vehicles are cab-less electric trucks that navigate routes autonomously and handle routine driving as well as unexpected situations.

A remote operator monitors the trucks off-site and can intervene if needed. The trucks are already in daily operations at other sites across the United States. The current deployment will evaluate impacts on operations, safety, and freight efficiency.
