Musk also said Tesla was making “steady progress” toward making autonomous driving widely available and relied on “AI and cameras” rather than radar or LiDAR. ” She noted that millions of drivers use Waze daily, millions of public-transport users rely on Moovit, and Mobileye’s technologies, developed in Jerusalem, save lives worldwide.

Regev identified two main challenges for Israel’s transportation sector: security threats from low-altitude aerial systems observed in the Russia-Ukraine war and in Lebanon, and traffic management in a dense country with rising private-vehicle ownership.

She said the immediate priority is the security challenge and that the goal remains moving people from private cars to fast, efficient, and accessible public transportation. Anna Michlin, VP of product management at Innoviz, said autonomous mobility requires an ecosystem of cameras, radars, and LiDAR for reliable sensing in all conditions.

Innoviz is working with Volkswagen Group and Mobileye on the ID.

Buzz autonomous shared-mobility project and with Daimler Truck on autonomous trucking. Ghil Harly, VP business development at Cando Group, said the drone industry is advancing but remains largely invisible in civilian skies. He noted current civilian uses include event monitoring, construction-site supervision, and agricultural analytics.

Maxim Levy, COO of Dronery, said the company provides aerial logistics services in Israel, including delivery of medical equipment between hospitals and clinics. An electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft displayed at the summit has already flown in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Caesarea, though not yet with passengers.

Levy said commercial operations in Israel could begin in three or four years, subject to security conditions and airspace restrictions.

Saul Singer, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Line Mobility, said cities remain car-centric and that elevated autonomous mass-transit systems on dedicated tracks could free ground space for bike paths, trees, and public use. Adam Tannenbaum, co-founder of TAKY Tech, presented a sensor-fusion system that can activate air conditioning, open a window, and alert additional contacts if a child is left in an overheated vehicle.

He said roughly 20 percent of heatstroke deaths occur when children enter vehicles later in the day while playing.
