He stated that he wanted a former world champion for this fight but that those fighters declined. "Bryce Mills isn't ready for me. There's no way, shape or form he beats me," Vargas said. Vargas described Mills as a one-dimensional fighter.
"He only knows how to fight one way, and it's coming forward. That's it," he said. " Vargas said he would not attempt to replicate his father's career. "I would never try to be my father," he said. "I'm not going to dye my hair blonde and do the tips.
