England beats West Indies by 38 runs to reach T20 World Cup semi-final

England scored 186 for seven and dismissed West Indies for 148 for five to win by 38 runs at Lord’s on Wednesday evening, advancing to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. Danni Wyatt-Hodge scored 65 from 42 balls and Heather Knight made 43 as England built their total.
Knight ran out Wyatt-Hodge and was later run out herself, while the lower order added few runs. Charlie Dean, standing in as captain, struck two reverse sweeps for four in the final over and took two wickets as West Indies fell short.
innings West Indies lost Hayley Matthews for 14 after a television umpire ruled her caught behind. Deandra Dottin hit one six before being caught, and Sophie Ecclestone bowled Shemaine Campbelle. Jahzara Claxton made 21 from 34 balls. Chinelle Henry remained not out on 50 after two dropped catches. West Indies must now beat Ireland on Saturday to stay in contention for a semi-final place.
England’s next match England face New Zealand later on Saturday.
It remains unclear whether Nat Sciver-Brunt will be available after a calf injury. Australia lead the group standings. India and South Africa compete for the final semi-final berth.
