England defeated India by 26 runs in the second T20 at Bristol on 30 May 2026. England scored 168-5 after Freya Kemp hit 24 runs from the final over to finish 39 not out from 13 balls. India replied with 142-9.

Kemp struck four fours and two sixes in her 13-ball innings. Her strike-rate of 300 was the highest by any England woman in an international innings of 20 or more runs. She also took 2-15 with the ball.

England reached 116-4 in the 17th over before Kemp came in at number six. Sophia Dunkley was caught behind for 10. Danni Wyatt-Hodge scored 29 from 25 balls. Heather Knight made 18 from 14 balls. England managed 34 runs from the powerplay.

India reached 70-1 in the ninth over of their chase. Smriti Mandhana was caught at deep square leg for 32 after Freya Kemp dismissed her. Yastika Bhatia was retired out for 33 from 36 balls. The retirement was the first instance of the tactic being used in a women's T20 international between major nations.

Jemimah Rodrigues was caught off a slower ball from Kemp. India needed 39 runs from the last two overs but finished on 142-9. Shafali Verma was caught at cover after hitting five fours. Charlie Dean conceded only two runs from the 13th over.

Sophie Ecclestone's third over cost only one run. There was a run of 18 deliveries without a boundary during India's innings. Sree Charani took 3-25 for India. England open their Women's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign at Edgbaston on 12 June.

The third match of the series is scheduled in Taunton on Tuesday.
