Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that work is underway on a legal framework to speed up the disbandment of the Kurdistan Workers Party. Speaking to lawmakers from his ruling AK Party in parliament, Erdogan stated that the framework would be placed on parliament's agenda without delay. He added that Ankara is determined to conclude the peace process with the PKK.
The PKK has conducted a more than 40-year insurgency against the Turkish state.
