New York PostFear of God Essentials clothing items have become popular among some tweens and teens, with prices ranging from around $33 for T-shirts to $130-$200 for certain children's hoodies. The line was created by Jerry Lorenzo and initially launched in 2011, with the Essentials line launched in 2018. In an interview published on Ssense, Lorenzo said the brand is not explicitly Christian.
"If someone asks me how Christianity fits into it, it just fits because it's a part of who I am," Lorenzo said. " Kinna Thomas, a mother of two, told Business Insider that her sons requested Fear of God Essentials items for Christmas in 2022. Thomas said she purchased the clothing for her sons, now ages 15 and 16, and that the items are staples in their wardrobes.
"I think people like it because it looks clean without doing too much," said Julian, one of Thomas's sons. "I also like that Essentials doesn't try too hard," said Timmy, her other son. Another parent, Amy Nachon, said she supports her son's choice of the brand because it is professional.
