Euphoria Season 3 Episode 6 Explores Alamo Character's Backstory

Euphoria season 3 episode 6, titled "Stand Still and See," presents the backstory of the character Alamo. The episode shows events from the 1970s involving his mother, Mama Brown. Mama Brown told young Alamo that she had met a man named Preston. Preston had scars from chemical burns at his workplace.

The three formed a household and Preston promised to send Alamo to a private school once insurance money arrived. Preston received the insurance payment and moved the family into a larger apartment. He asked Alamo for permission to marry Mama Brown, and Alamo agreed.

The family appeared to have the lifestyle Alamo wanted.

The Robbery and Its Aftermath Their apartment was robbed on Labor Day.

Mama Brown left Preston, saying the robbery showed he had bad luck. Alamo later learned that his mother had arranged the robbery with another man to take Preston's money. She said he could not understand because he had not been the one to kiss Preston's scars. Alamo was then sent to live with a man he did not know in another city.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje told TV Insider that Alamo developed an aversion to women from this experience. He said the aversion explains why Alamo rarely employs women except for strippers. Akinnuoye-Agbaje added that the same aversion applies to the character Laurie. He noted there is rivalry and jealousy because Laurie has broken free and is now challenging Alamo. m.
