Everton Manager David Moyes Says He Would Like to Help West Ham Avoid Relegation
Everton manager David Moyes said he would like to help West Ham United stay in the Premier League. West Ham sits two points behind Tottenham Hotspur with one match remaining.
bbc.co.ukEverton manager David Moyes said he would like to help West Ham United avoid relegation on the final day of the Premier League season. Moyes, who previously managed West Ham for five-and-a-half years, made the comments ahead of Everton's match against Tottenham Hotspur.
"I'd love to keep West Ham in the league if I can," Moyes told reporters. He added that Everton's own league position remains his priority because a higher finish would bring additional revenue.
Ham is currently in 18th place and two points behind Tottenham. The team must beat Leeds United and hope Tottenham loses to Everton to have a chance of staying in the top flight. A draw would likely be enough for Tottenham to remain in the Premier League due to goal difference.
Tottenham has lost one of its last five matches under manager Roberto de Zerbi. Everton enters the match on a six-match winless streak after a 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Tuesday. West Ham lost 3-1 to Newcastle last weekend and has not beaten Leeds United in two meetings this season.
