Evotrex closed a $30 million Series A funding round, increasing its total capital raised to $46 million. The round drew investment from several Chinese and Hong Kong-based firms, including GSR United Capital, Forebright Concerto Capital, TTGG Ventures, and Pegasus Capital. It intends to manufacture the vehicles in China and complete final assembly in California.

Product and timeline Evotrex plans to begin selling its hybrid RV travel trailer next year and targets roughly 1,000 units annually. The model uses a battery pack recharged by an onboard gasoline engine, an approach known as an extended-range electric vehicle.

Co-founder Alex Xiao said the design aims to allow extended off-grid use without requiring an electric hookup. The company has finished validating a functional prototype and will spend the next 10 to 12 months testing durability.

Market position Legacy RV makers have moved slowly on electric models.

Thor plans to send its first electric vehicle to rental fleets, and Winnebago’s eRV2 has remained in field testing since 2023. Several startups are entering the space. Evotrex is among the few pursuing a hybrid system rather than an all-electric design.

Orders and operations Ninety percent of existing orders are for the fully loaded Premium trim priced near $160,000. The company hired its first service employee six months ago and its first sales employee last month. Alex Xiao said the hiring order reflects a focus on customer support before scaling sales.

He also cited lessons from his prior role at Anker, an early seed investor, about identifying demand and letting satisfied customers promote the product.
