Explosion Occurs at Dutch Political Party Office in The Hague

An explosion occurred at the office of Democrats 66 in the center of The Hague, police said. The incident took place at the headquarters of the party, which holds the largest number of seats in the Dutch parliament. A device made of fireworks was thrown into the building.

Police stated that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the explosion. The party leader Rob Jetten described the event as a cowardly act of intimidation. No injuries were reported from the incident.

Authorities have not released additional details about the suspect or the motive for the attack. The explosion happened on the same day that Dutch media carried coverage of recent parliamentary election exit polls. Democrats 66 participated in those elections held in late October 2025.
