Faith leaders from multiple religions and prominent figures from business, sport and media signed a Together Coalition letter describing recent violence against Jews as "a nightmare from another time." The letter said: “This is not a problem for Jewish people to have to respond to.” It added: “This country belongs to you as much as any of us.”
Brendan Cox, co-founder of the Together Coalition, said extremists are trying to divide communities on the basis of race or religion. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said all of society must tackle the “crisis” of antisemitism. Starmer hosted a summit of leaders from police, arts and universities on the issue.
