Falcons, Kyle Pitts agree to three-year, $54 million deal

The Atlanta Falcons and tight end Kyle Pitts reached agreement Tuesday on a three-year, $54 million contract, his agency Athletes First said. The contract includes $36 million fully guaranteed at an average annual value of $18 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
That figure ranks third among tight ends behind the San Francisco 49ers' George Kittle and the Arizona Cardinals' Trey McBride.
Contract details and timeline The Falcons had applied the franchise tag to Pitts for 2026 at $15,045,000. The new agreement supersedes that tag and runs through the 2028 season. The sides had until July 15 to complete a long-term extension. Pitts, 25, recorded 88 receptions for 928 yards and five touchdowns in 2025.
In December he posted 11 receptions for 166 yards and three touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, becoming the first tight end since Shannon Sharpe in 1996 to reach those marks in a single game.
Draft history and recent extensions Atlanta selected Pitts fourth overall in 2021. He produced 1,026 receiving yards as a rookie, the first 1,000-yard season by a tight end since Mike Ditka in 1961. The Pitts deal follows a four-year, $141 million extension the Falcons gave wide receiver Drake London three weeks earlier.
