Family Visitation to Resume at Newark Immigration Detention Center After Protests and Clashes

"DHS has met our demand to restore family visitation," Sherrill said. Limited visitation will resume at noon on May 31 2026, with regular hours restored beginning May 32 2026. Sherrill advised families to contact the facility for details and said law enforcement would escort visitors inside.
